COASTAL RETREAT CENTER
CRC Located on the Isle of Palms across the Cooper River from Charleston, South Carolina, the Coastal Retreat Center offers all the beauty and activities of the beach: swimming, sunbathing, walking, and searching for shells. Additionally, it offers convenient access to one of America's most historic cities with its sight-seeing, harbor cruises, museums, shopping, and fine restaurants.
The Coastal Retreat Center was built to accommodate groups meeting for retreats, workshops, conferences, and meetings. The CRC provides a place of hopitality for over 3,000 individuals from congregations and communities, totaling more than 10,000 nights of use per year, according to Resident Director Herbert Loadholt. Along with being in the premier beach location of Isle of Palms, the CRC offers a number of facilities to suit your group's needs!

 

ACCOMMODATIONS

 

Coastal Room The Coastal Retreat Center offers 20 bedrooms, sleeping a maximum 80 people. Ten bedrooms have two double beds, and ten bedrooms have a double bed and a set of bunk beds. Each room has its own tiled bath with shower, and independent heating and cooling system. Guests provide their own linens or they may rent from the Center. All of our rooms have been recently upgraded through our "Adopt-A-Room" program and have really enhanced guests' stay at CRC.

LOBBY

When you first enter the Coastal Retreat Center, you will receive a warm southern welcome in our Lobby. The Lobby is equipted with plenty of seating, current newspapers and magazines, a free long-distance telephone, and Wi-Fi wireless internet access for guests with laptops. Right outside of the lobby is a concrete patio outside on the ground level you can enjoy!

CLASSROOM / MEETING ROOM

The Classroom/Meeting room is a great space for learning, lecturing, bible studies, and meetings. The room is supplied with tables and chairs, a dry erase board, and a pull down projector screen. Bring your own projector to display your presentations or watch movies on a 'big screen'.

 

KITCHEN AND DINING ROOM

Kitchen and Dining

The Dining Room and Kitchen are located downstairs next to the Lobby. The Kitchen is available for groups to prepare and store food, and can be set up to serve food buffet style. Pots, pans, trays, silverware and serving utensils are furnished.  Plates, cups, napkins, etc., are not furnished. The Dining Room's tables and chairs can be arranged to best accomodate your group's needs.

*Food service is available for $30 per person, per day, 20 minimum required

 

LOUNGE ROOMS AND CHAPEL AREA

CRC has two lounge rooms, one upstairs that connects with the Classroom and one downstairs next to the Lobby. The upstairs Lounge is equipt with chairs, sofas, TV/DVD, a piano and makes a wonderful spot for devotionals and other meetings. The downstairs lounge offers meeting space, chairs, and TV with regular Cable stations. This room is also the designated chapel area.

 

OUTDOOR DECK

On the upper level we are pleased to present you with a generously sized wooden deck that has a terrific view of the Isle of Palms. Enjoy lounging out on our patio furniture or have a outdoor group activity.

BASKETBALL COURT

Bring your game to the outdoor basketball court that is located right outside of our main building. A paved court, two hoops, and a basketball make for a wonderful afternoon! Enjoy!

And of course, as a guest of the Coastal Retreat Center, you will enjoy premier free parking on the Isle of Palms. Bring all your beach toys and walk across the street to see the beautiful Atlantic Ocean. Frequent events happen on the beach over the summer including sandcastle building competetions! At night, the beach makes for a wonderful moonlit stroll, undisturbed by man made light. If you are lucky you might come upon a Loggerhead Turtle's Nest and see the Turtle Team Preservation group in action! See the tides change and experience all the wonder of God's beautiful beaches.

 

ACCESSIBILITY

The Entrance to the CRC is on the ground level. There is an elevator that provides access to the second floor. Public restrooms and 2 bedrooms are wheelchair accessible.

Coastal Retreat features 10 rooms with two double beds, 10 rooms with a double bed and a set of single bunk beds, and 1 apartment featuring 2 double beds and one single bed.
