Building+Renewing+Believing: Holy Spaces Campaign

Celebrating over 50 years of ministry!

“At long last, a dream has become reality. Our own camp is underway.” -Dr. Karl Kinard

On April 16, 1972, Lutherans from throughout South Carolina gathered at Camp Kinard to dedicate a Dining Hall and the first bunk-bed Cottage. This marked the beginning of “a dream long in the minds of many Lutherans” and provided local congregations a retreat center at which to gather for relaxation, fellowship, spiritual growth, and renewal.

As we look ahead to the future, we invite you to take part in the many exciting things currently happening at Camp Kinard – including the construction of a new swimming pool, entrance, and long awaited chapel!

In their own words

What groups are saying:

Everything was great. The meeting space was exactly what we needed and the lodge rooms were clean and comfortable.

Sherri Mims  |  Epworth Children’s Home

The best part of our retreat was being able to get away close to home at an affordable price and renew our walk with Jesus Christ. Very refreshing!

Angie Lewis  |  River Springs Church

Coastal Retreat turned out to be an excellent place for our  team retreat. Our team is from around the country, so they especially enjoyed the Isle of Palms and Coastal Retreat’s easy beach access. The center itself was ideal, allowing us to “move in” for our time there, using each room of the center as needed. Everyone on our team asked when we can return. Thank you SCLRC!

Mark Tidsworth  |  Pinnacle Leadership Assoc.

The space was perfect for our gathering. Many comments from those who attended saying how much they liked this venue!
